The View From The Dugout

The View From The Dugout

TUESDAY 28 NOVEMBER 2017

The management look ahead to tomorrow night's home match against Haverhill Rovers (7.45pm kick off).

"Tomorrow we welcome Haverhill Rovers to Stoneylands for what will be another tough game for us as we look to bounce back from a disappointing result at Gorleston on Saturday.

After a decent run of results over the last few weeks, the trip to Norfolk at the weekend was a little frustrating for a number of reasons, not least the fact that we travelled with a small squad due to a few absences. Those who made it performed well, but we weren’t at the same level for the full 90 minutes as we have been of late, which meant that the decisions that went against us in the game proved costly.

Nonetheless, we can take positives from the fact that we still kept battling until the final whistle and nearly snatched a late point in stoppage time after Nathan Rowe’s well-taken header had got us back to 2-1 late on.

As always, we’d like to say a big thank you to the supporters who made the long trip up to Norfolk, it really is appreciated and you are all very much a part of the team in our view.

We know what has helped us achieve our positive results of late, and it’s down to hard work, commitment, determination and team spirit. If we go in to tomorrow night's game like that, it’s all we can ask.

Anything less than 100 per cent here, then Haverhill will give us problems, as they did at the start of the season when they beat us 3-1 at their place. They are a very good footballing side and on their day, capable of hurting most teams in this division, which they proved last week when they took points off big spenders, Coggeshall Town.

We hope it’s an entertaining game and that everyone enjoys their evening, has a pint in the bar, a bite to eat from Deb’s Diner, and a safe journey home after. Remember, we’ll be back here in action again on Saturday as Walsham Le Willows return to Melford a month after their penalty shootout victory here in the League Cup. It would be great to see you all again. "
