All the ingredients of an entertaining FA Cup match, two closely matched teams, golden chances missed and some debatable offside decisions.

The home team started well and in the opening nine minutes had three good chances, Steve Adams heading straight at keeper Razvan Negrila, Hassan Ally heading wide, and finally Josh Hodgson through on goal but his shot found only the midriff of keeper Negrila.

Gradually the visitors started to show their ball skills with their two wide men Florin Pop and Sergui Maximov a constant threat to Melford whilst the dominance in midfield of George Taban and Adrian Balsanu, proved to be key factors in the game. 

After 15 minutes Steve Adams saved Melford when he blocked an effort from the FC Romania front runner Toby Cleaver, who was certainly good at finding space for the visitors. 

The opening goal came after 28 minutes when the Melford defence failed to make a real clearance, the ball came to SERGUI PITARU who side footed home with the Melford defence appealing for offside. 

Ten minutes later and Melford found themselves another goal down, a great ball from defence from Sergui Maximov, let in TOBY CLEAVER behind the Melford defence and with confidence he fired the ball home from fifteen yards. 

On 41 minutes Melford were a little unlucky not to get a goal back Hassan Ally lobbed the advancing keeper Nergrila but somehow Gabriel Ghinea got back to clear the ball off the goal line. 

Over the second period Melford increased the tempo, although not before Moyes saved well from Pitaru and minutes later from Felix Lupu to keep the scoreline static. 

On 72 minutes Melford thought they had levelled, a header from Luke Payne found the net, but after consulting with his assistant the referee ruled the effort was offside. 

The Villagers were now more in control of the game and a Steve Adams header hit the post and finally after 83 minutes Melford got a goal back, a long Dan Swain throw found NATHAN ROWE who turned sharply in the box and fired home from close range. 

Now into the ebbing minutes and Melford started to look the better team but despite all their sterling efforts time ran out and FC Romania advanced to the next round of the FA Cup. CHENOBERET
