Melford were without David Lopez, Callum Hemson, Scott Sloots, Ashley Sloots and Dan Smith for tonight's match, while Hassan Ally started on the bench. 

However they were boosted by the return of Anthony Waugh, Ross Waugh and Elliot Walker, while recent signing Jose Zarzoso-Hernandez came off the bench to make his First Team debut after 5 appearances for the Reserves.

League leaders Coggeshall made it 9 straight wins in a row, a run that gives them a good opportunity of winning the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division title next month.

They were soon on the offensive in tonight's match and Melford defender Ross Waugh did well with a clearance under extreme pressure.

Melford then settled down and had a good chance but Anthony Waugh fired over from Nathan Rowe's free kick.

Coggeshall went in front after 18 minutes, their top scorer and former Colchester United striker NNAMDI NWACHUKU let fly with a 30 yard shot into the top corner.

Before Melford had time to recover from this early setback, a couple of minutes later Aaron Cosgrave had space to work with and crossed for JAMIE SHAW to tap home at the far post.

Melford regained their composure and put a few useful attacks together but it was game, set and match to Coggeshall before the break when GEORGE COCKLIN'S shot hit the bar and post before crossing the line off keeper James Scammell's back.

Melford introduced Hassan Ally for the second half and overall did much better. 

For only the third match since October, Melford didn't get themselves on the scoresheet but nevertheless kept going well and returned home with pride intact.
