New Arrivals

SUMMER ARRIVALS

In addition to the loan signing of Jamie Griffiths we have several more arrivals to announce ahead of the 2019/20 season:

Darren Moyes was keen to get back involved after a year out, so it’s great to have someone with his experience in the squad. He’ll combine his role in the playing squad with goalkeeping coach duties.

Meanwhile, we are also pleased to have added Jon Brown to the management team, who was previously with Mildenhall Town.

Goalkeeper Ashley Hayhoe is stepping up from SIL club Bedricks Worth FC. We saw Ashley play against our reserves last season and he had a lot of the qualities we look for in a goalkeeper. He’s settled into the squad well in pre-season and will be pushing for the number one jersey.

Kyle Hurley joins from neighbours Cornard United after impressing in pre-season and is another young, exciting, attacking prospect. Melford manager Jamie Bradbury saw Kyle play in Cornard’s Cup Final at Portman Road last season and was pleased when he said he was keen to come to Melford. After impressing on the pitch and showing a great attitude throughout pre-season, we are sure he will do very well at Stoneylands.

Jack Rayner is an 18-year-old central midfielder who arrived from Halstead Town in pre-season and has shown he has the attributes to develop into a very good player.

Manager Jamie Bradbury said: "The squad is looking in good shape and we are hoping to add a couple more names to the list very soon who will bring even more quality to the side.

We know from last season, you need a reliable and committed squad, and we feel we have that with the lads we have on board.

We’re now looking forward to the real business starting on Saturday, but know we face a very tough test against Woodbridge. But we’ll do everything we can to get something out of the game and start with some points on the board.”
